[Oh wait. He goes to check the mansion's mail and sure enough there's a letter for him. From the City. Oh lovely. He decides it'd be better to call back.]

Sorry about that, I just read it and... You didn't sound like you really wanted to? I'm not offended, I'm just... You don't have to do anything with me if you don't want to, okay? I mean that. I don't know what this letter's about at all.

... Unless it's a warning.

[Getting a call in response was a little surprising, but Naito almost immediately felt guilty after answering it. He didn't mean to make it sound like the worst thing on earth, really! Maybe he should work on not getting flustered immediately and always making a fool of himself.]

[Come on, now. This isn't so bad. After all, Cadence seems quite kind, giving him an option like that.]

I'm Naito Fuuga, and I was just wondering if you received the same letter as I did. Um, but I guess you just said that you did. [And he pauses, trying to work a sheepish laugh into his voice.] Sorry. I'm not really against it... it's just embarrassing. That's why I reacted like that!

[Now he feels a little bad. He's gotten as flustered as Naito before, it's just been few and far between.]

Oh, well... Okay then. I guess... what's the most embarrassing part? Maybe we can try to fix that part at least?

Probably... just about all of it? I mean, working up the courage to ask you about it was hard enough, but it wasn't so bad in the end.

I guess part of it is that we've never met before, but I feel a lot better about it now that we're talking. [No mention of how highly embarrassed he still is, thanks.] So there's not much that needs fixing. I just feel bad for startling you like that.

It's probably my fault for getting startled just because someone friendly wanted to chat.

Still getting the hang of that, sorry. I'll start over too. I'm Cadence, and I've been in the City 82 days now. Level 6. And I do get what you mean about strangers, which is why I offered to not do anything at all, but I guess I'm easier going about it. I don't have- well, didn't have anyone from back home like some others when I first arrived, and I'm used to traveling around worlds, so I guess dealing with strangers never bothered me too much.

Some of the most important people to me used to be strangers, after all.

[82 days? Level 6?! No, now's not the time to think about that!]

I've never thought about it that way, but I guess you're right. My twin brother has always been my best friend, but everyone else was a stranger before I got to know them.

[He pauses, but once he speaks up again, there's a clear (yet still shy) smile in his tone.]

Well, put it this way...

You seem like a nice person too, and I'm glad, but I don't want to go back to shoving people into walls and doing things to them without their permission. That's the main thing.

You sound about my age though, so I can be careful if you'd prefer, just not... I don't want you to feel forced if I can help it, okay Naito?

["Go back to"? Huh. Well, it sounds like that was in the past, at least. Anyone offering to work with his comfort level seems like a great person, in Naito's eyes.]

Yeah, I'm 17. But don't worry, it's okay! I'm fine, I promise. [This won't be so bad, will it?] As long as you don't feel forced either, I mean.

Um, so... What I'm trying to say is... I'm in apartment building 1, in the second room on the second floor. I-If you want to visit. [It may not be a very forward way of accepting, but that's about as direct as he's going to get.]

But to most people I'm 15. If that doesn't bother you, I'll accept the invitation without the envelope even being involved. I just need to know what time would be a good one to drop by.
