[OPEN] This is my homeland, my heart is here / These are the voices I long to hear
Who: Arden (Riku Replica) and (mostly) his CR
Where: Around Verens
When: April 18th-20th (Pre-Flower Festival)
Format: Brackets
Open/Closed OPEN with Closed Prompts
Summary: Arden's back from his 2nd canon update in a few weeks, so KH3 spoilers abound.
---
OPEN A - Amulet:
[ Whether it's because he doesn't know the person that well, or just because both of them are in the middle of a million other things and he's trying to let them know sooner than later, Arden figures that it might be best to talk to the person over the Amulet first, even if they end up meeting in person later. ]
Hey... it's me. Arden.
[ He's amazed this is even happening. He's talking with the strain of someone just coming off a long journey, not the physical exhaustion but the emotional one having taken a toll on him, and here he is starting to recover. So he's not exactly upbeat, but there's an undercurrent of happiness to his quiet tone. Depending on the person, he might also add: ]
I'm not sure if you heard... but I'm back now.
OPEN B - Bakery, Return of the Manager:
[ Not one to sit idle, Arden is of course going to head to the Bakery as soon as he can, during a time he's pretty sure is usually slow - the kind of time when normally he's restocking or getting ready to take deliveries out. He makes a point to Dark Corridor to the street, and then come in the employee entrance in the back of the store. Almost shyly, walking quietly, he peaks around until he finds someone. ]
Hey... [ He manages a small smile. ] Sorry I was gone so long.
OPEN C - Clubhouse, Boys' Dorm of the KH Cast:
[ Admittedly this is the easiest place to find Arden, especially since he'll be outside playing with his young wyvern friend, checking on his window-ledge herb garden from the outside, and sometimes... just sitting around, feeling the breeze, touching the grass, and other small things like that. You might also find him inside, looking through the kitchen and just kind of dazedly touching everything from the utensils to the pantry to the fridge.
His voice, if you hear him speaking, is the same old Arden, but the tone is much more wistful - calmer, at peace, and barely above a whisper. ]
Never thought I'd get to do this again.
OPEN D - Dark Corridor meeting:
[ Instead of chatting over the amulet or waiting around to accidentally bump into someone, Arden takes a deep breath and focuses his energy on finding the person he's interested in checking in on. He determines that they're somewhere he's familiar enough with that going there through a Dark Corridor will work. No guarantees it won't freak the other person out - or anyone nearby - but sometimes it's just easier to talk to someone in person. ]
OPEN E - Empty Mind Meditation at the Lake:
[ Towards the end of the day, he'll want to head to the Lake as well. For all the time that he spent as a ghost, it wasn't stress-free either. He was either feeling his body slowly crumbling away, or tethered to Riku. Now, he can meditate again, the way that he was taught. He can clear his mind, legs crossed, listening to the small movements of the water.
Whether it's before he arrives or after he leaves, he could bump into someone who might want to talk. Alternatively, he'd welcome someone joining him for meditation too. ]

When the sun goes down in the evening light; Closed to Riku
After disappearing from the battlefield, the other replica defeated and his dying wish conveyed, he thought he was done existing. Last time he returned to Verens, it was like waking up from a drugged sleep, slow and sluggish, a realization as slow as the sun disappeared beneath the horizon.
Not this time. This time, he appeared with a boneless feeling in his body, and then immediately slipped and fell. His amulet had been perched on the ledge near the sink in the bathroom while Riku showered; Arden was so shocked he fell backwards into the sink itself, then twisted in surprise as the faucet hit his back, shouted as a result, grabbed air and found nothing, then landed his hands on the toilet, before eventually falling onto the floor... all while the shower was still going. ]
What... the...?
[ He was a little out of breath, plenty worn out emotionally from the conversation he'd just had and his Verens memories returning in a rush the moment he'd reappeared, but somewhere underneath of all of that... he was also chuckling a little at the ridiculousness of it all. His first few moments of feeling real again and it was like this? This was some kind of cruel joke, or something that would happen to Donald or Goofy, or a plot to make sure he didn't immediately hit the same depressive spiral he was in when he returned last time.
That was when he realized he wasn't alone in the bathroom. ]
Who's like a ghost through starry night; Clubhouse CR only
I love her stories and the teller's gift; Closed to Naminé
All too eager to see her, after knowing he succeeded with his gambit to get her a body from his ghost time with Riku, he just opens a Dark Corridor and exits the other side in her bedroom. Unfortunately, that means he's in his Dark Mode uniform still. Fortunately, his overall demeanor is a marked change. For all his eagerness, there's a calm surrounding him.
He smiles when he sees her, unsure what to say at first. He did say some things through Riku, but to say them to her in person... he both wants to do it and yet finds them catching in his throat. ]
Naminé... I...
